Our Itinerary
1-Day Trip
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a world-renowned conservation center about 10 kilometers from downtown Chengdu. Home to more than 100 giant pandas , as well as red pandas and other endangered species, it’s one of the best places in the world to see these beloved animals in spacious, naturalistic habitats.
Visitors can see pandas at every stage of life. The Panda Nursery offers a rare glimpse of newborn cubs, while the Adult Panda Enclosures let you watch them eat bamboo, climb, and play. Don't miss the charming Red Panda Area and the Panda Museum , which highlights their biology and conservation efforts.
For the best experience, arrive in the morning (8:00–10:00 AM) , when pandas are most active for feeding and play. It’s an unforgettable chance to see these iconic animals up close and learn about the work to protect them.
Chengdu People's Park
Founded in 1911, Chengdu's People's Park weaves past and present. The Monument in Commemoration of the Railway Protection Movement recounts local struggle in stone, while the Sichuan Army Anti-Japanese Martyr Memorial offers solemn tribute.
The park’s true heartbeat lies in its everyday scenes. At the century-old Heming Tea House , time slows. Bamboo chairs, lidded tea cups, and the chatter of locals capture Chengdu’s authentic leisure culture. Sip tea—or try the unique ear-cleaning service—to embrace the city’s unhurried pace.
This lively culture comes alive amid tranquil Jiangnan-style scenery. Stroll along the Jinshui Stream , row on the Artificial Lake , or unwind in the Bonsai Garden and Orchid Garden . Seasonal displays, such as the Chrysanthemum Festival, add an extra touch of beauty.
Heming Teahouse
In Chengdu's People's Park, Heming Teahouse has been a local cornerstone since 1923 —more than a teahouse, it's a living symbol of the city's slow-paced culture . Traditional bamboo chairs fill the open-air courtyard, where lidded tea bowls clink amid friendly chatter, offering an authentic glimpse into historic Chengdu life.
Slow down: settle into a chair and order a classic tea like "Bitan Piaoxue." Watch masters demonstrate the "chong tea" technique with copper kettles. Try traditional Chengdu ear cleaning , or catch folk performances like Sichuan opera face-changing. Then sample classic snacks from neighboring Zhong Dumpling.
Heming Teahouse remains accessible, offering morning tea for just a few yuan while warmly welcoming visitors from around the world. It's a place to sit down, sip tea, and absorb the local philosophy of relaxed contentment .
Kuanzhai Alley
Kuanzhai Alley is a historic Chengdu district with three lanes: Kuanxiangzi Alley (Wide Alley), Zhaixiangzi Alley (Narrow Alley), and Jingxiangzi Alley (Well Alley) . Built as a Qing Dynasty Manchu quarter, it blends northern Chinese courtyard ( siheyuan ) architecture with Sichuan style.
After 2008's restoration, each alley developed its character. Kuanxiangzi Alley captures old Chengdu—sip tea in a teahouse and watch Sichuan Opera face-changing . Zhaixiangzi Alley is slower, lined with boutique cafes, Western restaurants, and creative shops . Jingxiangzi Alley buzzes with bars and specialty stores , plus a 400-meter "Brick" cultural wall telling Chengdu's story.
Historic courtyard gates, old hitching posts, and architecture that blends Eastern and Western styles make this district a walkable museum of Chengdu’s rich cultural heritage.
